Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Tour

Back by popular demand! Tour the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard with historian Joseph Gluckert. Registration is required and seats are limited to 30 participants. Read all the details below in order to complete the registration process by 9/1/26. - Registered tour attendees will meet at Albacore Park, 569 Submarine Way, in Portsmouth, NH on October 1st at 10am. Please park in the lot on the right. - Historian Joseph Gluckert will meet the group and the bus will leave promptly at 10:00am and return at 12:30pm. - Due to security precautions, all participants will require prior clearance to visit the Shipyard. Participants are required to complete Form 5512 (available at the library's main circulation desk) which is due no later than 12:00 noon on 9/1/26, delivered to the library attn: Amanda Johnson. - In order to board the bus, participants must present a non-expired REAL ID or US Passport that corresponds with the address that you provided on Form 5512. - While photography will not be permitted from the bus, there will be designated areas at the Shipyard where photos will be allowed. - Since the tour will include some walking outdoors, please be sure to wear comfortable shoes. The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is the nation's longest continuously operating Navy Shipyard, so you will not want to miss this opportunity to visit and experience 224 years of history. Joseph Gluckert, Shipyard Historian, will lead this general tour of the shipyard which includes a visit to the Shipyard Museum. Visitors will have a chance to view the room where dignitaries from Russia, Japan, and the United States gathered to sign the Russo-Japanese Peace Treaty in 1905.
